Recently, the Payload Handover Ceremony for the SJ-19 Satellite Following Its Successful Return was held in Beijing. Among the payloads recovered, several Pu’er tea products from China Tea (Yunnan), including China Tea Vintage Tea Tuocha tea of 25 years old, the intangible cultural heritage tea products China Tea De'ang Suancha tea, and the China Tea 3T Pu'er tea.
This is the third time that China Tea (Yunnan) sent its tea launching into space and returned. The tea products were projected for the space onboard scientific research and experiment and completed this journey in around 13.5 days from September 27 to October 11, 2024 .
Previously, China Tea (Yunnan) had carried out two space missions. One was in May 2020, and the other was in June 2021. The first mission of around 67 hours in space had the famous Pu’er raw tea products. The second journey was around three months with some Pu’er tea strains selected by the company.
For years, China Tea (Yunnan) has been exploring the new path of "Pu'er tea + aerospace R&D". Driven by scientific research projects, there are some new ways for the cultivation. Achievements are expected to give more possibilities and be commercialized in the development of Pu'er tea products.
